On 12 and 13 May, we took part in the finals of the ABB RobotStudio Cup 2026, the competition dedicated to the Education world that brings together students, schools, ITS academies, universities and professionals to work on robotics, simulation and industrial automation.
The two-day event was hosted across Kilometro Rosso, Confindustria Bergamo and Fondazione Dalmine, in a setting designed to enhance the technical talent of the new generations and create an increasingly direct connection between training and industry.
For Ideativa, it was an important experience: the team supported by our technicians achieved third place in the ITS and University category, within a national competition involving participants from all over Italy.
RobotStudio, simulation and real-world application
At the heart of the competition was RobotStudio, ABB’s software for the simulation and offline programming of industrial robots.
These tools are becoming increasingly central in the automation sector, as they make it possible to design, test and optimise robotic applications in a virtual environment before real commissioning.
For students, working on these aspects means dealing with an approach that is very close to the needs of industry: process analysis, application development, motion management, cycle time optimisation and attention to operational variables.
