science. Games, shows, insights, workshops open to all, live experiments: hundreds of squares across the country will be animated for Research Night with
the goal of raising awareness, in a fun and stimulating way, of the researcher’s profession and research excellence, and thus increasing young people’s interest in scientific careers.

As part of the technological evolution, the field of robotics has made great strides, leading to the creation of intelligent and versatile solutions. A compelling example of this innovation is the implementation of a robotic application that employs our collaborative robot to solve Rubik’s Cube, taking advantage of 3D vision.

The project in question was developed by employee Matteo Tagliavini, a master’s student in computer engineering.

The implementation took place in several phases.

Phase 1: Identifying the Cube.

The process begins with the collaborative robot using its 3D vision system to identify the Rubik’s Cube placed on a work surface. The advanced vision allows the robot to recognize the colors and current arrangement of the cubes.

Step 2: Precise Placement and Movement.

Once the Rubik’s Cube is identified, the collaborative robot accurately positions it in a stand attached to the surface. This support provides stability while performing the moves and allows the robot to manipulate the Cube accurately.

Step 3: Solving the Cube

The collaborative robot then begins executing the moves necessary to solve the Rubik’s Cube. Using advanced programming and machine learning capabilities, the robot is able to determine the optimal sequence of moves to bring the Cube to its solved configuration.

Step 4: Resume Resolved Configuration.

Once the resolution of the Cube is complete, the collaborative robot resumes it with its 3D vision system to verify that all faces are correctly aligned. This step ensures accurate resolution and allows the robot to correct any errors.

In conclusion, the robotic application to solve the Rubik’s Cube with a collaborative robot demonstrates how the combination of advanced technologies can lead to extraordinary results, redefining the concept of intelligent automation and opening new horizons in the world of robotics.
